SUBJECT:
Application for membership
Dear Sir,
In reading over your application for membership I find
that owning a Yacht is not a requirement. I totally agree
that one should not be burdened with the upkeep of a house
with a sail on it. However, there is mention of membership
fees, meaning money, of which I have little. There is also
mention of having an interest in sailing. I have no interest
whatsoever in this subject. You might ask why I would be
interested in joining a yacht club if this was not so? Simple.
My interests lie elsewhere.
Sniffing around your property
(the gate was open) I discovered that you have one of the
largest barbecue pits in the area. My interest’s lie
here and in the small grassy area that surrounds it. I believe
this should be reason enough to join.
Every
yacht club needs a member that will devote his time and
energy to the subject of barbecues. If accepted I promise
to do just that. I must point out to you however, that you
have a terrible plumbing problem. Your backyard is underwater.
Photos are attached. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Dakota A. Labrador
